We use oils and greases made for watch movements, matched to the component type. General-purpose lubricants are not used as substitutes.

Formal training in watchmaking passes down a specific kind of rigour — methodical disassembly, part-by-part inspection, conservative judgement on what to replace versus what to clean and retain. This rigour shows up in the written records produced by every job at Movemento.
The timing machine used at Movemento produces a printed readout showing rate, beat error, and amplitude across multiple positions. This readout is included with the job record, giving the owner a baseline measurement to compare against at a future service.
Tools appropriate to the work
A watchmaker's output is limited by the quality of the instruments available. Movemento uses purpose-built diagnostic and service equipment: a timing machine for movement analysis, calibrated pressure test apparatus for reseal verification, and watchmaker-specific lubrication tools to apply the correct oil to the correct component.

Clear information at every stage
Watch repair is an invisible craft. An owner hands over a piece and — without clear communication — has no way of knowing what happened to it during the service interval. At Movemento, we treat communication as part of the service itself: inspection findings are explained before work begins, any unexpected discoveries are discussed rather than resolved without consultation, and the job record provided on collection translates technical findings into plain language.

Questions about the work — before, during, or after — are welcome. We'd rather spend five minutes explaining a finding than have an owner wonder what they paid for.
Published prices: ฿3,600 for a cleaning tune-up, ฿19,000 for a full water-resistance reseal with pressure documentation, and ฿31,000 for an heirloom rebuild with archival dossier. Adjustments within a job require agreement before they are made.

Measurable results, not impressions
The output of a good service should be measurable. For a mechanical movement, that means timing data: rate accuracy across positions, beat error, and amplitude. For a reseal, it means a pressure test result against the case's stated water-resistance rating. Movemento provides both where relevant, so the owner leaves with evidence of the outcome, not just an assurance.

A timing machine printout is a practical document. It shows where the movement stood before service and after. The next time the watch comes in, the technician can compare the current readings against the previous baseline. Over years, this builds a picture of how the movement ages.

The three things most workshops don't offer
Heirloom dossier
A documented record of the rebuild — step-by-step photography, written notes on every finding, and an archival folder — that stays with the watch across generations. The next owner inherits both the piece and its history.
Timing data as standard
A timing machine printout is included with every cleaning and lubrication service. Most shops complete the work without measuring the movement's rate at all. Here, the measurement is part of the deliverable.
Scope transparency
Work outside the agreed scope does not happen without a conversation first. If the movement reveals a problem during disassembly, we call or message before spending any more time or parts. Your approval is needed to proceed.
